Welcome to our first prestige Liquidity Cru event & it's going to be a cracker !
I am truly excited to bring to you the wines of Five Star winery Shaw + Smith including their Tasmania Tolpuddle wines.

Shaw + Smith was established in 1989 by cousins Michael Hill Smith MW and Martin Shaw. They make wines from the Adelaide Hills varieties that suit the cooler climate: Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz. Shaw + Smith own two vineyards, in Lenswood and Balhannah.

Growing the best possible grapes, managing vineyards sustainably, and valuing vine health, soil health, and low yields are central to the Shaw + Smith approach. In the pursuit of quality, all grapes are hand-picked, and the wines are fermented, aged and bottled on site at Balhannah. The wines are vibrant, medium bodied expressions of their varieties that reflect their sites and region.
Our guest hosts are David LeMire Master of Wine who joined the team at Shaw + Smith in 2010, as Global Sales and Marketing Manager. He is involved in education with the Institute of Masters of Wine, is a wine show judge, and writes articles for Australia’s Wine Business Magazine.

And Kavita Favella who is responsible for NSW & Exports. She has spent 10 years in Asia firstly in Maldives as Head Sommelier of the luxurious Conrad property. She was then appointed as the Regional Cellar Master for Amanresorts &  became the Wine Director of the Press Room Group - responsible for 12 of the Hong Kong’s most well-known restaurants.

The wines of Shaw + Smith including their single vineyard & Tolpuddle wines from Tasmania will be accompanied by a matched 4 course dinner.

This wine dinner will be held at the fabulous Bishop Sessa in Surry Hills. Bishop Sessa Bistro and Wine Bar in Surry Hills is the brainchild of Melburnian nose-to-tail chef Paul Cooper (Pied à Terre (London) The Botanical, The Provincial Hotel, O’Connells Hotel) and industry stalwart Erez Gordon (Jacques Reymond Restaurant, The Botanical, Mezzo (London)).

Bishop Sessa has a casual approach to modern European dining  and is focused on local, sustainable produce wherever possible.
